Still Not Clean After Douching. What am I doing Wrong? – Male Q&A

Using an Enema and Still Not Clean

One of the most common questions I get is about hygiene and cleaning up before having anal sex.  For beginners and first-timers dealing with the poop factor can be challenging and a bit scary.  Even with proper cleanup and even douching, things still may not come out 100% clean.  So how can you deal with the dirtiness, even after you have taken the proper steps to prepare for sex?  Here is a question I received recently from one of my readers:

“Hello there, I really enjoyed your article, especially the part you said, ‘we should all enjoy anal sex, especially bottoms’.  I do have a serious question, I don’t know if it’s just me, or it happens to all bottoms.  Today, I used fleet enema 4 hours before sex, I took a dump before I used fleet enema, and it felt better and cleaner after fleet enema, then 2 hours later, I was too nervous, wanted to make sure I was clean, so I used soap and water enema again, and surprisingly, I still saw that yellowish stuff, I just keep repeating enema, and keeps seeing yellow watery stuff comes out, what the heck is going on? I have really haven’t had sex in months because of this “shit on dick” thing I am so scared of. Let me know what you think.  Thank you very much.”

Hey there,

Thanks for checking out the site!

Generally, I would say douching once is enough to do the trick – using an enema too much can actually remove the beneficial bacteria your body uses for digestion and can lead to diarrhea, skin irritation, and even prevent you from going to the bathroom naturally.

There is no such thing as “100% clean” be it a dick, vagina, or your butt. My guess is that this yellow residue was natural mucus or some other waste that the enema didn’t get to. I can’t say for sure, but my recommendation is that if you are truly worried about hygiene, then simply wear a condom. This, along with proper clean-up beforehand is the best solution.

I am guessing you already checked out my previous article How to Use an Enema before, but just a few tips:

How to use an anal enema

Try to go to the bathroom naturally first.  Take your time and make sure you have everything out.  Sometimes pooping comes in cycles, and you might have to wait 5 or 10 minutes for your body to move everything out on its own.

Secondly, use your enema as I mentioned, but let the water sit inside for a few minutes and push everything out.   Then, after you have done 2 to 3 flushes, wait 30 minutes to an hour for your body to get back into sync before having sex.  Douching can actually put a bit of stress on your inside so give yourself some time to adjust afterward and don’t be so quick to jump into having sex straight after.

I saw that you said you used soap and water.  This might also be leading to your problems.  Ideally, you should really only use room-temperature water, as the soap can actually do more harm than good on the inside of your body.

So in the future, I would suggest to try changing these things up and see if that helps.

If you haven’t already, take a look at my other article “Sometimes Shit Happens“.   This can also give you a better idea of how to deal with hygiene and unpleasant surprises.

I hope this helps out.

All the best,
